From the recording Little Book

RRC: On my solo record "Razzle Days" from 2025, I wrote about the old Scottish folk tradition of singing "waulking" songs:

Since that unique word was fresh in our minds around that time, it ended up sneaking its way into a new song.

VH: When I learned about the waulking songs it made me think of how walking in the woods softens my thoughts and allows me time to work through challenges with a renewed sense of passion and enthusiasm.

Lyrics

When I
walk out in the trees
Hover
with the dragonflies

Feeling
quotidian charm
Beauty
encircling me

Rainy day, gray moods
or bright color alludes?

Boredom
intermedius
Aching
imagination

Tackling tall weeds
or vitamin D needs?
Snow to be removed
or crystals to see through?

Then I
walk out in the trees
a lover
of the dragonflies
